Built by hand — grown with heart

Red Barn Ranch began the way a lot of good stories do — with a big empty field, a red barn and a dream that wouldn’t quit. In 2009, the Smiley family bought the property at auction. All that stood on it was a 10,000-square-foot unfinished structure — built as a home but never completed — and one bright red barn.

For a while, the land sat quiet. Then Cameron Smiley, along with his two teenage sons (mostly by default), rolled up his sleeves and got to work. With a backhoe, determination and more than a few long days, they began carving light into the concrete walls — cutting in doors, plumbing and hope.

About a year in, Cameron’s daughter and son-in-law joined the project, and over the next three years, Red Barn Ranch began to take shape. Six apartments in the main building. Two in the barn. Families moved in. Life took root.

Some folks say we’re in Florence, TX. Others say Briggs. Either way, this is home.

After the apartments were up and thriving, the team set out to build a 100+ site RV park — designed for long-term stays, daily comforts and a real sense of belonging. That community now thrives too thanks to the hands and hearts of our growing team and the neighbors who’ve chosen to live here.

In 2019, we built our second RV park — Juniper Ridge RV Village — just down the road in Liberty Hill. And we’re still building, still dreaming and still grateful.

To the loyal employees who’ve helped us shape this place — past and present — thank you. And to everyone who has called Red Barn Ranch home over the years — we wouldn’t be here without you.

Red Barn Ranch is more than a place to stay — it’s a place to belong.
